Celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day Unveiling Truth and Reconciliation Mural at City Hall

Posted: June 22, 2022

A ceremony was held, June 21, 2022, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, at City Hall unveiling the mural created by Kevin PeeAce that will encourage reflection on our journey in Reconciliation.

This beautiful and inspiring mural was a result of PeeAce’s collaboration with the 4 Humboldt schools and by Cultural Programs Director Jennifer Fitzpatrick.
Kevin PeeAce took the suggestions of students on ways to communicate Truth and Reconciliation in a graphic idea for all to share.

Many of the school children and community assembled at City Hall to enjoy performances by Dancing Horse Troupe and discussion with Horizon School Division’s Bryan McNabb, Chief Byron Bitternose and Humboldt Mayor Michael Behiel.
