In recognition of Sandra Pauli’s last day with the City of Humboldt before her retirement, City Employees from all departments paraded down main street this morning in front of City Hall in salute of her 35 of years of dedicated service. (See below for a video and still photos.)

During his presentation to Sandra at the last Regular Meeting of Council, Mayor Muench praised Sandra on all her hard work and mentioned that she has always been well respected by other Mayors and City Clerks across the province as well. As Sandra moves on to the next chapter in her life, the City of Humboldt sincerely thanks her for her many years of dedicated service, and we wish her and her family all the best. She will be greatly missed.

Following, is a bit about Sandra’s employment history with the City of Humboldt:
In a time long ago, when there was no COVID-19, Sandra began her employment with the City of Humboldt on July 17, 1985, as a Clerk Steno at City Hall in a six-month maternity leave position.

The maternity leave position ended; however, due to staff changes, she was offered the permanent full-time position of Clerk Steno. After a couple of years, she became the Water Billing and Payroll Clerk. In 1995, Sandra completed the Local Government Administration program at the University of Regina and received her Urban Standard Certificate. During this time, she became the Director of Administration. In the year 2000, when Humboldt became Saskatchewan’s 13th City, Sandra was given the role of City Clerk/Director of Corporate Services.

Sandra has served on the City of Humboldt’s Occupational Health and Safety Committee as the Employer Co-Chairperson for over twenty-five years. She has also performed the duties of Acting City Manager several times over her career.

She has worked with 6 Mayors, 44 different Councillors and 7 City Managers.

In addition to recording the Minutes of all the City’s Regular Council Meetings and Committee Meetings; Sandra has been involved in many aspects of the City’s operations. Some of which included land sales, lottery lot draws, elections, Council orientations, development and revisions to Bylaws, corporate strategic planning, policy making, budgeting, auditing, payroll support, records retention and management of bylaw enforcement and Corporate Services staff.

Congratulations, Sandra! You will be missed!
