Mayor proclaims Social Work Week in Humboldt

At the Regular Meeting of Council on February 23, Mayor Rob Muench proclaimed March 16-21, 2026 as ‘Social Work Week’ in the City of Humboldt.

The profession of Social Work is dedicated to improving the well-being of individuals, families, and communities by addressing systemic barriers and advocating for social justice.

Registered Social Workers in Humboldt and across Saskatchewan serve in diverse roles, including healthcare, mental health, schools, and community organizations. Through their work, they provide essential support to some of our most vulnerable citizens.

The 2026 theme, “Rooted in Relationship, Leading through Change,” recognizes that the human connection at the heart of social work. Those relationships provide a steady foundation as society navigates complex social, economic, and technological changes.

Within Humboldt, Registered Social Workers are valued members of the community, using their expertise to foster resilience, promote inclusivity, and guide individuals and families through life’s challenges with dignity and respect. It is fitting that we recognize the commitment, compassion, and professional contributions of Registered Social Workers who help make the City of Humboldt a more equitable and supportive place to live.

Citizens are encouraged to recognize the vital impact that Registered Social Workers have on the health and well-being of our community.
