Larry Jorgenson

Larry Jorgenson

Councillor

In Office:
2012 to Present
(3rd Term as Councillor)

Larry Jorgenson grew up in Lancer/Abbey in southwest Saskatchewan.  After graduating from Mechanical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in 1994, he moved to Humboldt where he has resided ever since.

Larry is currently employed as a Production Manager for Croptimistic Technology Inc. (SWAT MAPS) in Humboldt.  Outside of his engineering occupation, his hobbies include working with and repairing computers, tablets and cell phones (particularly Apple products), home renovations, and mechanical repairs on vehicles.

Larry has volunteered and been involved with the Humboldt Community Players (theatre group), Humboldt Public School Community Council (SCC), Humboldt and District Soccer Association, and Arts Humboldt. He was also a long-time member of JCI Humboldt (Jaycees) and is a founding member of the relaunched Humboldt Lions Club in 2023.

This is Larry’s third term on City Council, having been first elected in 2012, re-elected in 2016, and again in 2020.

“Having spent the last 25+ years volunteering and leading numerous non-profit organizations in Humboldt, moving to City Council was a logical next step for me.  My engineering background means I examine all sides of every issue and make sound decisions based on facts and in the best interests of the majority of the community.  I believe I have served the community well during my first 2 terms, and I look forward to continuing to improve our community through important work at the council table and on the committees and boards I will be working with.”
