On Thursday, April 23, 2020, the Provincial Government and the Saskatchewan Health Authority announced its “Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan”, a five-phase methodical approach to slowly lift restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Province stressed that the re-openings must be done cautiously, gradually, and safely. In response to the information conveyed by Premier Scott Moe, the City of Humboldt is pleased to announce that it will be re-opening City Hall to the public effective Monday, May 4th.
“The Premier’s announcement comes as great news, and a bit of a relief for our business community, our residents, and our province,” said Mayor Rob Muench. “I am optimistic that it will kick start our local economy by giving residents the opportunity to support the businesses that have been struggling while closed. This is also proof that we are doing the right things in existing open businesses. We can’t become complacent; please be diligent and continue to respect physical distancing.
“If you are a business that is permitted to reopen your doors, please make sure you have implemented physical distancing procedures for your customers and have educated your staff. You will certainly gain the confidence of your customers by making them feel safe when they visit”
Some of the essential physical distancing requirements that will be in place at City Hall that will allow us to safely open will be:
• Only one patron inside the reception area at a time;
• Please sanitize hands prior to entering the reception area (a sanitization station has been placed in the entrance for your convenience);
• Please remain behind the reception glass partition at all times;
• Enter only through the main front entrance, and exit only through the north exit (directional signage is in place); and
• Please do not enter City Hall if you are feeling sick or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
Beginning May 4th, 2020, City Hall hours will be 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding Statutory Holidays. Staff is also available to answer questions by telephone and email during these regular business hours.
