The City of Humboldt's mobility van is a specialized service that provides transportation options for residents with mobility impairments.
The mobility van is fully accessible and has a ramp to enable wheelchair and scooter access.
The mobility van operates much like a taxi service, with door-to-door service provided on an appointment basis. The service operates seven days a week, including weekends. However, due to the high demand for this service, individuals who wish to use the mobility van must apply for and register as clients.
Please note essential appointments related to work or medical matters are given priority. Transportation requests that are flexible will be scheduled around essential travel.
The service fees are as follows:
Within City Limits
- $4 per passenger for a one-way trip
- $8 per passenger for a two-way trip
Outside City Limits
- $20 per passenger flat fee
- $0.75 per kilometre (This cost may be shared by a group or by sponsors of a group.)
If the mobility van operator is requested to wait for a client at an appointment or function, a standby charge of $20 per hour will be applied.
Please note clients are required to pay the operator when boarding the mobility van.
Questions regarding the mobility van's service and application process may be directed to the City Clerk's Office.
