The Humboldt Community Trails Committee, a registered non-profit volunteer organization, was created in 2008 to help create and improve pedestrian routes for safe and healthy living within Humboldt.
Collaborating with the City and the community, the Committee worked closely with a consultant to help identify existing - and future - trails and pathways.
Within the Trails Master Plan, the Committee is targeting over 20 kilometres to be completed over the next several years at a cost of $1.2 million. This work not only develops new trails, but also incorporates existing pathways. Also included within the plan are enhancements such as pocket parks, benches, signage and points of interest that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Fundraising for these enhancements is underway.
The Sizzler Strut is a fun, family-friendly fundraising run/walk in support of Humboldt Community Trails. The event includes a 5 KM run/walk and 10 KM run. A 1 KM 'Kids Fun Run' is also offered for younger participants. Teams welcome!
