New Leisure Pass Rates

Posted December 29, 2017

The Leisure Pass was an initiative created by the City of Humboldt in October of 2013. The Leisure Pass provides holders with access to several recreation programs and activities run by the Community and Leisure Services Department. This includes all swimming programs (exception of swimming lessons), public skating and shinny, use of the fitness room and drop in sports.

In 2018, the Community and Leisure Services will be simplifying the admissions process for recreational programs. Participants will now be able to purchase one month and 12 month leisure passes or opt for single admission access. While the general admission rates will see increases, the leisure pass rates will see a drop by up to 43% for 12 month purchases!

“Too often recreation is seen as a luxury, rather than a necessity,” stated Michael Ulriksen, Community and Leisure Services Director, “but we believe that physical activity is vital to a healthy and vibrant community and the reason for the change in our rate structure.”

The new rate structure will eliminate all other monthly passes and punch card options, creating greater accessibility to the growing recreational opportunities within the community at a more affordable rate.
