The primary function of the City Clerk's Office is to ensure that proper legislative process is being followed by the City and Council.  The City Clerk is also responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining and safeguarding the official records of the City of Humboldt;
  • Preparing and managing the Agendas and Minutes for all meetings of City Council;
  • Preparing and amending bylaws as directed by City Council;
  • Providing administrative support services to City Councillors;
  • Coordinating select City programs and services;
  • Supervising all municipal and school board elections and acting as the Returning Officer;
  • Administering the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), including receiving FOIP requests; and
  • Working with the Province of Saskatchewan regarding municipal adherence to The Cities Act.

Online security measures are in place so that the City's web services remain available to all users.  The City of Humboldt's computer system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify efforts to tamper with information or to otherwise cause damage.

Requesting Routinely Available Information

Most of the information from the City of Humboldt - such as public notices, agendas, minutes, policies, bylaws or financial documents, for example - may be available online or is accessible simply by visiting or phoning City Hall.  To view or receive copies of of such information, contact the City Clerk's office.

 

Freedom of Information Requests

A written request is sometimes required to access records in the City's custody.  The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) requires the City to provide at least partial access to most records.  To submit a Freedom of Information request, or for more information about this process, contact the City Clerk's Office.
