The City of Humboldt accepts, and may even request, public input through its four Standing Committees of Council or through its representation on several local and regional Boards and Committees.

Standing Committees are made up of Council members appointed by the Mayor.  Standing Committees provide a more informal forum in which Council members can meet to receive information from members of the public and staff as well as address high-level strategic and budget policy decisions.

Any decisions made in Standing Committee meetings that require Council approval are normally considered at the Regular Council Meeting the following week (or in two weeks time, depending on the schedule).
